Description
Are you an experienced materials testing technician with experience in lab operations? We are hiring a Laboratory Manager to be part of the management team and to lead a team of technicians in Terrace or Prince Rupert, BC. There will be regular travel between both offices.
What the Manager will be doing:
- Manage staff and resources to perform laboratory testing on concrete, aggregates, soils and asphalt
- Responsible to ensure operation of the laboratory is running efficiently, while maintaining the high level of accuracy to our clients' expectations
- Maintain laboratory CCIL certifications
- Perform quality control reviews of laboratory staff and test results
- Review final reports
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of testing equipment
- Mentoring new and junior technicians
- Assist with writing proposals
- Provide consulting services to our clients
- Determine the staffing level
- Interview and hire testing technicians
Who we are looking for:
- Previous experience in supervising lab technicians and assist with lab operations is required
- Experience with Nuclear Densometer is an asset
- Deep understanding of test procedures
- Great attitude and willingness to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and control weights up to 35 lb
- Current or recent CCIL and/or CSA certification i
What we are offering:
- Depends on Experience, starting wage is $38/hr
